Elephants (Chang in Thai) are on the verge of extinction. As a direct result of poaching, their use as touristic attractions and the destruction of their habitat, there is a good chance that we could soon lose a species that is an extremely important part of the ecosystem. Thanks to initiatives like the NGO Bring the Elephant Home and sanctuaries like the Elephant Nature Park, these gentle giants are given a safe haven in which to live freely and reproduce safely.
